Dal (Indian lentils)

1/2 c Dal (red lentils)
1 1/2 c water
1 t salt
1/8 t tumeric
onions
stick of cinnamon
black mustard seeds

Sautee chopped onions and black mustard seed in small pot.add rest of ingredients and boil until water is absorbed.Additional water may be added if it boils off beforelentils are tender. Stir occasionally.
